Try starting over but do not go through your wireless connection...do the initial set up without clicking the online. I had trouble with set-up and had to start over.

Be sure the software you are trying to install is compatible with the Chrome Operating System. It sounds like you are trying to install incompatible software. If the program/APP is not available through the Google Play Store, it probably is not compatible with the Chrome Operating System.
