“Has anyone experienced the Backlight bleeding through the edges of the screen on this model? I purchased the Y700 from Amazon and ended up sending not just the first one but the replacement back as well due to issues with light bleeding out on edges.”

The backlight bleeding is very common and inherent to the design of this touch display. Unless it is a real distraction I would not worry about it. Maybe you should call Microsoft and consult with them in regards to this issue. My Surface Book seems to bleed near the top left around the power button.
