The Intel M processor came out with the intended purpose of use in laptops. It is low power which, in theory, reduces heat production and gives longer battery life. Also, since there is no fan needed, thinner designs are possible. If an OS is designed to take advantage of it, the battery life is improved. If it isn't optimized, it doesn't help and is slow. The current 6th generation Intel i3, i5, i7 are newer, faster, low power consuming but need better cooling than an M (thicker laptops).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The higher the number, the faster your laptop will go. i7 processor is fast as lightening. I have an Intel Core M and Lenovo Flex Yoga 3 with a 8 gb memory and 512 gb solid state drive and its the fastest computer I have ever owned. Push the button to turn it on and all apps are on and i can click on the internet button within a easy 1 and a half minutes. Highly recommend.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Core M processor is generally much weaker than the i processors, however it uses less power as well. So if you intend to use the yoga as tablet, the Core M processor will serve you well, however if you intend to use it as a laptop even for half of the time, take the i processor option. Preferably the i5 or i7.
