A:Answer The Intel M processor came out with the intended purpose of use in laptops. It is low power which, in theory, reduces heat production and gives longer battery life. Also, since there is no fan needed, thinner designs are possible. If an OS is designed to take advantage of it, the battery life is improved. If it isn't optimized, it doesn't help and is slow.
The current 6th generation Intel i3, i5, i7 are newer, faster, low power consuming but need better cooling than an M (thicker laptops).
