I just bought this computer and I have NOT experienced a loud fan noise. I didn't read the reviews until after I purchased it and came home with it, and after reading what others said about the noise I was discouraged. I planned on using it for school and I certainly wasn't going to keep a computer that would draw attention to me during a quiet lecture. Even though that was something I never would have paid attention to, it lead me to focus on it more and wait for the loud fan noise. After using my computer for awhile, setting it all up, signing into all of my accounts and downloading apps, I still have yet to hone in on a noisy fan. I do hear the fan briefly here and there but only sounds that are to be expected--nothing even close to considering it a "noisy fan".

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Previous models in the 700 series (700 and 710) have had fan noise issues. The latest 2016 version is very quiet- you can't even hear the fan when it gets going.
