I’ve run into this on the Yoga 7i as well. When the touchpad suddenly stops working, it’s usually tied to the I2C HID Device dropping out rather than anything you changed. A quick fix that often works is opening Device Manager, going to Human Interface Devices, uninstalling the I2C HID Device, then restarting so Windows reinstalls it automatically. If it keeps happening, check the I2C HID Device power management settings and disable “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.” That stopped it from randomly disconnecting for me. I’d also recommend running Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update optional updates for chipset and BIOS, since Lenovo doesn’t always list individual drivers on the product page anymore. If the issue keeps returning even after that, it’s likely a hardware connection issue with the touchpad itself. At that point, resets and driver reinstalls only work temporarily, and the permanent fix is repair or replacement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i had to have mine completely reimagined but had the Best Buy extended warranty and it was corrected
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Same problem with mine. It’s now waiting on “repairs” for 2nd time in less than a year. They said they fixed it the first time by updating a driver even though I’d already done that. Stopped working again. Sometimes it will start working for awhile after a reboot. I can’t work with a machine that is in repairs for 3 weeks periodically. Loved it when it was working but probably won’t buy a Lenovo again.
