- Answer You need to PRESS the Function Key while also pressing the LEFT side of the Space Bar, where you see that light bulb (with rays?) symbol.

QuestionAre the hinges as fragile as on HP? I have been thru 2 HP where hinges break in less than 4 years.

- Answer I’m just now upgrading from an 8 year old Lenovo yoga. It’s in incredible condition even after all of the wear and tear I’ve put it through. I just ordered this updated version because I already trust the design and brand. I don’t have it in my lap just yet but if it’s anything like my last Lenovo yoga, it’s a very sturdy hinge.

QuestionCan RAM & SSD storage be upgraded?

- Answer yes and no. Went thru all this with Geek Squad. RAM can't be upgraded but SSD can be upgraded to 1 TB. But since it is so new, they want to charge almost $400 for that drive! Not sure if upgrade beyond 1 TB is even an option.

- Answer With this operating system, it should be able to run the Sims 4, but I would contact Best Buy just to double-check. No, it does not come with a pen. For this laptop, you would purchase a Wacom - Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus for Windows Ink; 2nd Generation.

- Answer You should be able to select the WIndows Icon. It is no longer in the bottom left hand corner, but is instead more toward the center next to the search bar. Once you click on that, there will be a pop up. On the right side of the pop up you should see the power button to click on. There is also a small physical power button on the right side of the laptop, but I would not recommend using that on a regular basis as it may mess up the long term health of the laptop. Hope this helps!

- Answer Unless stated otherwise, a new computer, of whatever brand, cost, etc., will usually include a 30-day free trial of Office 365. If not pre-installed, it can be downloaded from the Microsoft website. Past the 30 days (again, unless stated otherwise) you would have to start a subscription, buy the one-time payment version, or install one of the other, free Office suites available.

QuestionONLY after purchasing the Lonovo Yoga 7i, I could not connect to the internet using my existing ethernet cable and was advised that I must purchase an adapter to for this connection. What make, model, or other specifications are required?

- Answer Just about any "dongle" that adapts an RJ-45 ethernet cable to a USB male plug will work. You could choose one with either a USB-A male plug or a USB-C male plug, depending upon which port you'd like to use on the Yoga 7i. So long as the adapter says it is compatible with Windows it will work fine. These are very standard these days, as fewer laptops are thick enough to accommodate a full-size RJ-45 port.

QuestionWill this support 3 outboard monitors through a dell docking station (2 DisplayPort and 1 HDMI))? I know it states thunderbolt connector but I purchased a Microsoft surface pro which also had one but that would only support a single external monitor.

- Answer It may or may not. This is not because of Lenovo limitation, but rather that you're employing a Dell Docking Station. Dell products are especially "keyed" to interact efficiently with other Dell products. That is true with many other docking stations as well. Also, limitation may exist even within a manufacturers line. For instance, if you decide to purchase a Lenovo docking station, please use the Lenovo site to assure that your specific model number is 100% compatible including the wattage support. If you are unsure, I would deal with the Geek Squad in person.

QuestionTouch pad has magically stopped working. The 12C HID Device driver suddenly malfunctioned and stopped working . I have tried to update the the driver and uninstalled to no avail . Went on to the Lenovo website and there is no driver support any more .?

- Answer Same problem with mine. It’s now waiting on “repairs” for 2nd time in less than a year. They said they fixed it the first time by updating a driver even though I’d already done that. Stopped working again. Sometimes it will start working for awhile after a reboot. I can’t work with a machine that is in repairs for 3 weeks periodically. Loved it when it was working but probably won’t buy a Lenovo again.
