  • QuestionJust got my system and 2 weeks later. I can't get it to charge. And I'm getting the. Orange light blinking. Twice. Any idea what's going on ??

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer The orange light blinking twice on a Lenovo Yoga usually indicates a charging or battery protection fault, not normal charging behavior. Here’s what it typically means and what to do: The laptop is not detecting a proper charge. This can be caused by a bad charger, a faulty USB-C charging port, or an internal battery issue. First steps to try: ★ Power the laptop completely off. ★ Unplug the charger from both the laptop and the wall. ★ Hold the power button down for 30 seconds (this drains residual power). ★ Plug the charger directly into a wall outlet (not a power strip) and reconnect it. ★ Try a different USB-C charger if you have one that meets Lenovo’s wattage requirements. If the orange light continues blinking twice after this, it usually points to a hardware problem (battery, charging circuit, or port), especially on a system that’s only two weeks old. Because the laptop is brand new, this is not normal behavior. If troubleshooting doesn’t resolve it quickly, you should return or exchange it through the retailer or contact Lenovo support for a warranty repair. Do not keep troubleshooting a new device with charging faults.

  • QuestionWhat is the wireless top speed? If a gig is available by a router. Thank you

    Asked by doverdon.

    • Answer The Lenovo Yoga 7i uses an Intel Wi-Fi 6E (AX211) wireless adapter. With a compatible Wi-Fi 6E router, the maximum theoretical wireless speed is up to 2.4 Gbps. What that means in real use: ★ If your router provides 1 Gbps (gigabit) internet, the laptop can fully utilize it over Wi-Fi under good conditions. ★ Typical real-world speeds on a strong Wi-Fi 6/6E network are 700–950 Mbps, depending on signal strength, interference, and router quality. ★ Best performance is achieved on the 5 GHz or 6 GHz band, not 2.4 GHz. So yes, if a gigabit connection is available from the router, this laptop’s wireless hardware is fast enough to handle it.

  • QuestionDoes this laptop come with Windows 11 home S-mode installed?

    Asked by Doug.

    • Answer No. This Lenovo Yoga 7i comes with Windows 11 Home (standard edition), not S-mode. That means: ★ You can install and run any Windows applications, not just Microsoft Store apps. ★ You are not restricted to Microsoft Edge or Bing. ★ There is no need to switch out of S-mode after setup. Windows 11 Home is installed in normal mode out of the box.

  • QuestionHello, I am a YouTuber, is this a good computer for editing videos and if so, what programs does it come with or what program do I need to download. Is this a better choice than MacBook with Final Cut Pro?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Yes, this Lenovo Yoga 7i is a good computer for YouTube video editing, especially for 1080p and light-to-moderate 4K content. Performance for video editing: ★ The Intel Core i7-1355U and 16 GB of RAM handle editing, rendering, and multitasking well. ★ Intel integrated graphics are sufficient for YouTube workflows, though not aimed at heavy cinematic effects or large 4K timelines with complex color grading. ★ The 16 inch 2K screen is very helpful for timeline space and previewing footage. What software does it come with? ★ It comes with Windows 11 Home only. ★ No professional video editing software is preinstalled. Recommended editing programs to download: ★ DaVinci Resolve (free version is very popular with YouTubers and very capable) ★ Adobe Premiere Pro (subscription based) ★ Filmora or CapCut Desktop for simpler workflows Compared to a MacBook with Final Cut Pro: ★ A MacBook with Final Cut Pro generally offers better performance efficiency for video editing, especially on Apple Silicon, but at a higher overall cost. ★ Final Cut Pro is also a paid app. ★ This Lenovo Yoga 7i is a more affordable and flexible option, works with a wider range of software, and is very capable for YouTube-level editing. This Yoga 7i is a solid choice for YouTubers who want good performance, a large screen, and flexibility on Windows. A MacBook with Final Cut Pro is stronger for heavy professional editing, but not required for successful YouTube content creation.

  • QuestionHow many available memory slots. What is the maximum configurable memory?

    Asked by Jimmy.

    • Answer This unit has soldered memory, so you cannot upgrade memory nor storage capacity. This has become very common on intermediately priced computers. If you need more capacity for either, you'll need to select another model at the time of purchase. If you require a computer that is reconfigurable, as a Best Buy Associate. They have makes and models which are reconfigurable, but are generally more expensive.

  • QuestionDoes the Lenovo Yoga have a DVD/CD reader/writer?

    Asked by Jude.

    • Answer No it doesn’t. Most slim laptops these days (such as this) skip the dvd/cd feature. Heard Best Buy won’t be selling CDs/DVDs disks sometime soon.

  • QuestionHi I'm just curious if you're able to run linux on this laptop? My younger brother needs it for school, just want to ask before purchasing.

    Asked by SunshineSU.

    • Answer I'm running Ubuntu 22.04 using mostly for embedded software development. So far, it is the best budget Linux dev machine I have purchased in recent memory. The only thing this distro didn't support was the fingerprint reader, not a deal breaker for me. Lenovo doesn't offer support for running Linux on this model, but it's running Ubuntu just fine.

  • QuestionWould this laptop be able to do graphic arts?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Never ask the hardware manufacturer if it can run any specific software. It's always the other way around. Check with the particular software for requirements; they will often quote a minimum to use the software, as well as suggested hardware for optimum performance. (Also: "graphic arts" could mean anything; it comes with Paint--that's "graphic arts.")

  • QuestionWhat does this unit weigh?

    Asked by traveler.

    • Answer It's weight exceeds the range of my kitchen scale. Using my bathroom scale, I weighed myself with and without the laptop and get 4.4 pounds (the scale reads out to the nearest fifth of a pound, so interpret the weight as about plus or minus 0.1 pounds). That's the laptop only without the AC adapter. The specifications at the Best Buy product page states "4.49 pounds." The power adapter weighs 6 ounces, so 4.49 pounds minus 6 ounces = 4.115 pounds for the laptop itself, which is consistent with my bathroom scale measurement.
