Hey, Roy. Most commonly this is done intentionally. There are several reasons, but most importantly, it helps ensure that user devices are covered out of the box without registering the warranty. Devices may start their warranty period once manufactured and shipped (usually with a prorated amount of time added to account for shipping times, time until purchase, etc.) so your warranty starting period may vary from the time of purchase. To resolve this, we recommend reaching out to Lenovo Support, as once given a proof of purchase, they should be able to reinstate your manufacturer warranty to its original duration.
