I had the exact same question and ended up getting the special edition. The only difference between the two was the lid and the fact that the special edition was numbered. The lid is the main reason that I purchased the special edition. The lid on the special edition has a glossy glass look where the normal 910 had a flat (as opposed to gloss) finish and looked like it would show fingerprints and grease more. Hope that helps

The regular yoga 910 has a yoga engraving (?) that sticks out on the cover, the special edition is smooth. I like the look of the regular Yoga 910 myself, but otherwise there isn't any difference.

For my taste the special edition looks terrible: has this white glass cover instead of aluminium...it's has some patterns that make it look like it's coming from the seventies... When the special edition came out there was a deal: 1.300$, I still went for the aluminum case: I found it more elegant and sturdy.
