If you are still having problems with your microphone, please check and see if it only happens with certain software programs (e.g., MS Teams, or Zoom). I've noticed at work that sometimes when I switch from using my laptop's microphone to using a headset with a built-in microphone, I have to confirm that both the laptop and the software recognize that I've changed the type of microphone.
The next time it happens to you, check the speaker symbol in the lower right of your laptop. Go to the sound system settings. Look under "Input" to see if it is set for the laptop's microphone, or an external device, like a headset. If the laptop setting is correct, then check the sound setting on the software program you are using when the mic stops working.
