Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi JENNYFTB. Different countries in Europe use different types of plugs and different types of sockets. In the U.S. we use either Type A plugs that fit into Type A sockets or Type B plugs that fit into Type B sockets. Type A/B plugs are used in the U.S. and in Japan and the difference between model A and B is that the type B plug comes with a third rounded pin and is somewhat longer than the flat ones. This third pin is used to connect to the grounding once plugged in. The LG 550 Sq. Ft. 12,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Window Air Conditioner - White, Model # LW1222IVSM that is marketed and sold in the U.S.is equipped with a standard 120 V, 3-wire grounding plug (Type B)that will only fit into a Type B socket. The third pin that is used to connect to the grounding once plugged in prevents it from fitting into a Type A socket that only has slots for the two parallel blades on Type A plugs...^Ivan
