“Is the Atmos feature activated at all times, or do I have to connect via optical cord or HDMI to make it work?”

• Atmos will only pass through on HDMI. I am using HDMI audio out of the 4K blu-ray player to the soundbar to get the Atmos sound.

• According to the manual, it has to be through the HDMI ARC port. Optical will not work.

• Hello, for Dolby Atmos to work it must be through HDMI ARC. ^CP
