• There's both. The primary sound mode is "AI Sound Pro" which seems to work quite well. It's "artificial intelligence" adjusts EQ based on the audio material it's being fed. Then you have "Bass Blast" or "Bass Blast +", "Standard" and "DTS Virtual X" ...a kind of hokey virtual surround sound mode. Manual EQ adjustments are for treble, bass and sub output level. Crossover frequency for the sub is not adjustable. The "Standard" mode seems to remove any EQ enhancements and is influenced only by the bass and treble settings you select. But each sound mode can be tweaked using the bass and treble adjustments.
