It is very difficult to read in low light conditions such as dusk. If it were not for the very difficult installation, I might even return it. Also, the sensor cooking is poorly implemented and over cooks some foods to the point of boiling away moisture and leaving you with a dried-out dinner that is too hot to eat. It feels flimsy (especially the door opening and closing) and there are some engineering issues such as the unit being taller than 18" so it will not fit under cabinets on a standard height kitchen. The port on the top exhaust is so close to the back it makes installing duct challenging. The top two mounts are not symmetrical with the centerline. The backplate tabs are flimsy and bend easily when installing. The exhaust fan is very noisy. These are the cons. The unit does have good ratings and seems to do the job. LG has a great reputation and I own some appliances that work great over many years and I hope that will be the case with this microwave. It looks great. It's spacious. It has some great one button press options for cooking. The fan is very powerful (300 cfm, twice the power of a standard range hood). The notification chimes are pleasant. Once installed properly, it seems very safely mounted.

Over The Range Smart Microwave with Sensor Cooking and EasyClean® - Printproof™ Stainless Steel, Model # MVEL2125X does not have a backlit keypad. While some brands may offer models with a backlit keypad, it is still relatively rare in the market. Some higher-end models may incorporate this feature, but most models often do not. We are not privy to the decisions for not incorporating a a backlit keyboard but some reasons may be because a backlit keypad requires more energy to operate or that it increases the manufacturing cost...^Ivan.
