No I don’t believe so. The back of the unit is sealed and it is self venting. It requires air to circulate around it. We have it built into a closet and leave the door open during operation.

When the air moves out of it, it travels through a condenser that collects the water, and the hot air returns to the drum to continue drying your clothes.
