• You have to close them manually. Left side first if you open both doors at the same time. Put everything you use a lot on the right side.

• You need to close them, firmly. Fortunately, there's a "door alarm" (3 short "dings" like a bell), should the doors remain open for 30 seconds (and it repeats every 30 seconds until the door(s) close). Personally, I find this a plus. Also, you really need to open BOTH doors to fully access the veggie and/or fruit drawers. Again, very minor drawback. My wife really loves the look of this white model.
