you can disable the sensor all together by removing the small plastic cover on top of the door and unplugging the sensor connector. The plastic cover has the letters "NEXT 1DID" written on it, you will need to remove 1 screw and pop the cover off. Then there are 3 connectors behind it, unplug the one with 5 wires connected to it. You will know if you unplug the right one if you knock on the fridge and the light does not come on anymore. Everything else will still work fine except the sound sensor will no longer turn the fridge light on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It worked fine for three months, but now the light goes on for any noise - like a sneeze. Called LG service and was told ‘It’s supposed to be like that.’ Really impacted my impression of the brand - both the mechanical flaw and the bad customer service.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Open the instaview glass door, pull back the bottom door seal, take off small screws, remove small plastic cover.remove screw inside cover.Theres a tiny round black sensor inside pull it out of housing and put peice of plastic or tape under the sensor, not on top.put back into housing. Reasemble.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have the same fridge with the same problem. It seems the sensor is in the glass door handle behind the button. I'm trying to figure out how to get the button out and see if there is a screw or something to adjust the sensitivity. Very annoying.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Put the small piece of tape under the sensor as was suggested earlier in this thread. Or you can call an LG technician to the house to "adjust the sensitivity of the sensor" as LG recommends which is likely putting a small piece of tape under the sensor for $100 to $200...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sensitivity of the instaview can be adjusted by a technician. ^CP
