If your water is safe to drink from the tap, I don't see why the fridge water wouldn't be safe. You should realize that it is possible for the filter to get clogged over time and the water pressure from the fridge tap will be reduced.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Deani. Thank you for your inquiry. Regular water from your faucet is treated via chlorination against water borne diseases, mainly from cysts and other contaminants. The 6 Month / 200 Gallon Capacity, Horizontal Installation Part #: ADQ73613401 water filter, Model # LT800P in your LG - 22.1 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Smart Refrigerator with Thru-the-Door Ice and Water - Stainless-Steel Model # LSXS22423S not only reduces the chlorine taste and odor from your water, it also provides extra filtration and reduction of other contaminants such as Atrazine, Benzine, Mercury etc, it also filters out cysts that might not have been filtered by the water treatments at the Water Plant. If you still have your owner's manual for this Refrigerator, turn to page 33 and you will find a full list of what contaminants the filter reduces from your water...IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not claim to be an expert. I don't think you need to change immediately, you could go for another month or 2 but all water has bacteria and Alger in it and a build up in the filter may cause a colony to develop. This could actually make the water more unhealthy. You should change the filter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it should be okay.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The water would be the same as the water that comes from your sink. It would not be filtered to remove the elements that make the water less desirable such as lime.
