Hi Wally. The running amps and surge wattage for when the compressor kicks on are stamped on the motor in the LG 22.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator, Model # LFCC22426S in accordance with National Electric Manufacturers Association (NEMA) requirements. If you need information for the running amps and surge amps for the refrigerator, you will need to contact our Support Center at (800) 243-000 for have them check the engineering notes for that information. However, the refrigerator has to be plugged into its own dedicated outlet. A dedicated circuit is set aside with a specific purpose, with its own circuit breaker in your electrical box. A dedicated circuit is intended for use with a single appliance only. No other appliances will be plugged into or utilize the energy from this circuit, making it “dedicated” to that single appliance. Dedicated circuits are required by the National Electrical Code for certain critical-use appliances and many fixed appliances. No other appliances, fixtures, lights, or outlets can be served by these dedicated circuits. They are most commonly required for appliances that have motors to ensure there is sufficient power for the start-up load and to run at peak performance. More importantly, dedicated circuits prevent the inconvenience of circuit overloads. That means that if you are running 12 amps on that circuit, the refrigerator will not work...^IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know the amp draw. I do know that I have it plugged into the same 15 amp outlet used by my old refrigerator/freezer (Amana 21 ft**3) and it has been operating normally for the past 30 days. I've attached the Energy Guide label that was on the unit.
