A:Answer I believe that the new high-efficiency compressors cool more slowly than older refrigerators, resulting in a delay in getting your new refrigerator and freezer really cold. It took several hours before the refrigerator was noticeably cold, and the ice maker didn't start making ice until the freezer got well below freezing. We didn't see ice for almost a day, but it is now able to keep up with our daily demand for ice. Initially, it will help you to press the "ice plus" button; also press it after you've had a party or large use of a quantity of ice. We really love our new refrigerator; it takes a bit of time to get comfortable with it.
