The light is activated by a series of 2 taps to the window area. The light stays on (LED) until a repeat series of 2 taps OR if any of the doors are opened then closed.

Looking at these answers you'd think half the people don't even have this refrigerator. The inside lights of the refrigerator come on 1: When you open any of the refrigerator doors. 2: After two taps on the window. The lights then go off after 10 seconds if no door is opened.

The light does not come on by motion. It comes on if you tap on the glass with the door shut or if any of the refrigerator doors are opened. It shuts immediately when the doors are closed. It stays on ten seconds if you simply tapping on the Glass.
