“My dishwasher sounds like water running directly on floor during rinse cycle. Its the first time I've noticed that. I do have a couple of plastic bowls on upper rack but am afraid to stop and open the door.”

I would have to open and check. If it isn't leaking you can always restart. I have had no problems with mine and it is VERY quiet.
