“I bought lrfs28xbs. The manual says not all models have an air filter but it doesn’t specify which models. Some have a fresh air filter place this model has multi air flow. There is no button on the control panel that says air filter. Does it need one?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The problem is that without an air filter, the air from the main compartment flows into the freezer and can make the ice smell. The Multi-Air Flow cover seems to be the same one used in models that routinely use a filter. While this model theoretically doesn't "need" one, I'm wondering whether I could use one anyway, or would that impede the necessary air flow to keep both compartments at the correct temps?
