“On this and other LG French door models we have 1/8inch ~ 1/4 inch side clearance. Is this in the recommended range. How does the air flow at the sides and does this affect component life? We had a LMXS28626D which failed 4hrs after startup. Concerned.”

The recommended installation clearance spacing for the top and the back on this ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 27.9 French Door Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Refrigerator - PrintProof Stainless Steel, Model # LFXS28968S is 1" for the top and 2" for the back. and although there is nothing specified for the sides, 1/8" will suffice for the sides. IT should be installed in an area where the temperature is between 55 °F (13 °C) and 110 °F (43 °C). If the temperature around the appliance is too low or high, cooling ability may be adversely affected...^IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The installation diagram for my LFXS28968S shows a minimum back clearance of 2 inches needed for airflow and connections. There is no requirement for the side clearance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No problem with airflow. Right door opens wide next to counter. Left door not near any counter. No complaints regarding operation. Wish the sliding shelf could be raised . Milk and other tall bottles/containers won’t fit past the shelf making area beneath inaccessible without shifting many things.
