Hi Mike. Unlike older TV sets that had to be on channel 3 or 4, the LG 28 inch Class HD TV (27.5'' Diag), Model # 28LM400B-PU does not have to be on any particular channel to watch movies. It just has to be on the correct input for where you are streaming the movies from. The TV has 2 x HDMI inputs, so if you are watching movies froma DVD Player or Blu-Ray Player that you have connected to the TV, you just have to switch to the HDMI input that the DVD player or Blu-ray player is plugged into.It also has a Shared Composite/Component port that you can connect older devices like a VHS player to and to watch those, you would need to switch to the appropriate inpu (source) on the TV...^IFV
