Yes, the door has a lot of space. It will hold a gallon of milk and other items. I have a gallon of milk, a large bottle of vegetable oil and a 6 pack of soda all on the same shelf in the door. The items in the door stay cold but, there is a 2 degree variance between the temperature in the door and the temperature inside the fridge on mine. However, I have never had a problem with milk spoiling. It is a very nice refrigerator and I would recommend.
