The manual, available online, shows additional wireless speakers available. It also shows hardwiring speakers to the wireless sub-woofer. Check the manual for details.

We had surround sound and wanted to simplify. never used woofer because of placement. this is wireless although we need to run an ext cord because it is fairly short but really interested in using the woofer.. on to your ?. upon reading the instructions... we felt that yes we could use the old surround speakers in addition to the soundbar but havent gotten there yet. the sound we have experienced is impressingly like surround sound with 1 soundbar (speaker) on regular tv. the sound is very crisp and clear and even at loud levels remains crisp and clear during action movies. We dont feel like we have lost anything but actually gained in neat and tidy and sound clarity. When someone shows up more tech knowledge we intend to try the additional speakers for just movie watching. I would suggest reaching out to LG for conformation.
