Asked by Cookiemom.
- A:Answer Hi there! Thank you for your question about the LG induction model CBIH3017BE. We understand you're curious about using an induction-compatible griddle over the two square elements. Yes, you can use an induction-compatible griddle over both square elements simultaneously. While the model doesn’t have a dedicated bridge feature, the induction technology allows for efficient heating across the entire surface of the griddle as long as it’s compatible with induction cooking. Just ensure that the griddle covers both elements adequately for even heating. Q: QuestionHi, Can the two square units be used for individual round pots that do not cover the entire heat element? Thank you
Asked by Christine.
- A:Answer The "square units" that you are referring to on the Energy Star® Certified LG 30" Built-In Electric Induction Smart Cooktop with 4 Elements and UltraHeat™ 5.0kW Element - Black Ceramic, Model # CBIH3017BE, are what is referred to as the Flexible Cooking Zone that lets you combine the two Single Cooking Zone elements to heat larger cookware. Cookware must fully contact the surface of the cooking element. The dimensions for the Single Cooking Zones are 8 1/2" x 7 1/4" (216.2 x 185 mm), and for the Flexible Cooking Zone, the minimum cookware size is 4 3/4" x 10 5/8" (120 mm x 270 mm). Your cookware must be centered correctly on surface of, Flexible Cooking Zone, it must have a flat bottom and straight sides, and the pan size must meet or exceed the recommended minimum size for the cooking element. The cooktop has a Cookware Compatibility Indicator, which is a feature that helps users determine the compatibility of their cookware with the cooktop's elements. It rates cookware and element compatibility on a scale from 0 to 10, which can optimize power output and energy efficiency. This indicator is particularly useful for selecting the right cookware for induction cooking, ensuring that the cooktop can heat the cookware directly without heating the cooktop surface. The indicator is designed to be user-friendly, allowing for quick and easy assessment of cookware compatibility...^Ivan.

Q: QuestionIs this can be just plug in when install OR have to be hardwire?
Asked by Aceluna.
- A:Answer Hi there! Thank you for your question about the CBIH3017BE. This model requires a 3-wire or 4-wire single-phase 120/240 or 120/208 Volt, 60 Hz AC-only electrical supply on a separate circuit. It should be fused on both sides of the line, and we recommend using a time-delay fuse or circuit breaker. Please note that the neutral should not be fused. The fuse size must not exceed the circuit rating specified on the appliance nameplate. For the 30" induction cooktop, it can consume up to 8800 W at 240 VAC, requiring a 40 Amp circuit breaker with #8 AWG wiring. The 36" induction cooktop can consume up to 10600 W at 240 VAC and needs a 50 Amp circuit breaker with #8 AWG wiring. Asked by Kate.
- A:Answer Hello there! Thank you for your question about the LG CBIH3017BE cooktop. Unfortunately, this model does not support bridging the two left elements for use with a griddle. For a cooktop with a bridge feature, you might want to consider the LG LCE3010SB or LG LCE3010ST models.
