If memory serves when I was looking at the cutout dimensions (my cabinet was super tight left to right) it was stated that the oven requires airflow around the outside. This extra cutout depth provides space for that.

We understand your inquiry about why the cut‑out depth for your LG Model WCEP6423F is listed as 24″, even though the oven’s physical depth is 23 3/8″. The extra 5/8″ in the cut‑out specification provides critical room for: Proper ventilation around the back to prevent overheating Space for electrical connections and the cord/plug behind the cavity Ease of installation, allowing you to slide the unit into place without friction Troubleshooting Tip: Before final installation, use a tape measure to confirm your wall cavity is at least 24″ deep. Then, with the oven pulled out slightly, check that the leveling legs are adjusted so the front trim sits flush against the cabinetry face. If the oven appears too recessed or protruding, simply turn each leveling leg clockwise or counter‑clockwise until the trim is perfectly aligned. This ensures both a clean look and optimal airflow behind the unit. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-30-smart-built-in-electric-convection-combination-wall-oven-with-microwave-and-air-fry-stainless-steel/6534259.p?skuId=6534259 If you’d like personalized guidance—such as step‑by‑step installation tips or confirmation of your existing cut‑out dimensions—please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be more than happy to explore possible solutions with you. —Renzo
