This was my question and I spoke to an LG rep today. Turns out this TV cannot accept RCA connections at all. You must have a direct line HDMI or Optical Digital connection. I had a converter from RCA to digital optical and this TV will not accept that. My only workaround is to connect the headphones to our DirecTv receiver. They will work with DirecTv but if we watch Prime or something else, they won't work. Wish we had understood this before we bought the tv. We do still own some VHS recordings and our VCR player won't work now either. Or our speakers. Something to consider if you are looking at this TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would read this article. It can explain in detail. https://www.howtogeek.com/241828/what-is-the-optical-audio-port-and-when-should-i-use-it/
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not too familiar with headphones for TV"s, but you might want to fiddle with them and try putting them into different jacks. This tv probably has bluetooth too and I know there are a lot of less expensive headphones available these day. I hope this helped, but I would probably google the problem for better results.
