Can the monitor be turned vertically? null

If you use the a vesa wall mount or stand mount, you can put it anyway you desire. You are only limited by the stand that comes with it.

Unfortunately not but the screen is tall enough to read documents without turning it vertically. I view five documents side by side with ease.

Don't think so. There is no way to attach the base to make it stand vertically, and unless your computer has screen rotation like your cell phone, I don't know how you would be able to rotate the image.
