You will first need to run the Source(Blu-ray) to the sound bar first then to the tv. Both cables will need to be rated for 4K.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is illogical that a second HDMI cable running between your TV and your Soundbar would prevent 4K data into your TV. To test this, unhook your Soundbar from its HDMI cable and check the picture. I believe there will be no change in the picture. This leads me to think either the signal to the TV is not true 4K, or there is a setting preventing 4K display. The other connection option, according to my manuals, is a 4K picture will "pass through" the soundbar when you connect the 4K source directly to the soundbar then use a proper HDMI to connect two ARC / HDMI ports. Another possibility is defective or improper HDMI cables, or that the HDMI cables are not aligned well with the connection. HDMI is great for digital data transmission, but turns out to be not so great for overall reliability at its connection. Make sure the cable is not pushed up against anything behind your equipment that would not allow a very straight in connection. All of my equipment is LG, so I am sure I did not have to deal with as many variables as you to successfully view a 4K picture but you should be able to get 4K.
