• You are correct in saying the only way to disconnect Wi-Fi from the SJ8 is to remove power. You could (very inconveniently) turn off Wi-Fi in settings. The pilot light on the SJ8 remains a dim white indicating there is a Wi-Fi connection to the soundbar. A red light indicates the WI-Fi connection has been lost. I find this useful information as to the status of my router. An unused Wi-Fi connection does not degrade performance of your router or other equipment.
