Suggestions from a salesperson that helped me get rid of the smell - 1) always wipe the rubber gasket dry (I was doing that, but didn't realize it's the smaller "fold" in the gasket that really needs to be wiped dry, that's where the drain holes are), 2) spray a mixture of white vinegar and water around the gasket and into those drain holes, 3) be sure to empty the drain line regularly. (I have an older model that looks just like this one, so I'm just assuming the newer model still has a drain line that is accessed behind the small pane on the bottom left of the front of the washer)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We leave a wash cloth on top of the washer and simply wipe off the inside of the door. If you notice a lot of water staying behind, wipe off around the rubber ring inside as well. Note that when I say "a lot" I have never had a wash cloth wet enough to wring out after wiping both the ring and the door (literally, it takes about 30 seconds). We have had our washer since April and have not had ANY smell with it.
