Mold and mildew problems   (8 Answers)

I have been experiencing mold / mildew problems from water remaining in the door seal with my current LG washer (WM2277HW), are there any improvement in the newer model of the washer?

      Answer

We don't see this with our newer model (4270), but the manual for our machine recommends that the door is left open when the machine is not in use. The 4270 has a kind of stop that holds the door slightly ajar. You might want to try leaving the door slightly open when you're not using the machine (if you're not already doing that).

What is the exact purpose of the Fresh Care feature?   (4 Answers)

I asked a question about this feature already and the answer I recieved was completely unhelpful and frankly condescending. The answer I was given was all about drying clothes and removing them promptly from a DRYER and folding them so they wouldn't wrinkle, which wasn't what I had asked... I have been told that the fresh care feature on the WASHING machine blows air in while it tumbles the clothes to keep them from smelling mildewy, and in doing so, somewhat dries the load as this cycle can be programmed for hours. I cannot find in the owners manual that air is actually blown in? So that was my question, is air blown into the washing machine for this fresh care feature or not? And if not, what is the feature really for? Sales people don't seem to know and the owners manual is unclear. Thank you for any clarification you can give.

        Answer

We apologize if you found the previous answer to your inquiry about the Fresh Care feature on the LG - 4.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Ultra-large-Capacity High-Efficiency Steam Front-Loading Washer -Model # WM4270HWA condescending, that was not the intent. The Fresh Care feature does blow a little air, but in response to your question "Could a small load dry or be nearly dry if tumbled overnight?" it is possible that a small load could dry depending on how much moisture was in the load after drying. The Fresh Care option will tumble finished loads of wet laundry for up to 19 hours to keep it from getting musty. The purpose of this feature to answer your question as to "what is the feature really for?" is to prevent your laundry from getting musty in the event that after drying, the laundry is still wet and you are not home to either remove it from the dryer to let it aerate so it does not get musty or if it has dried, that it does not get wrinkled. The tumbling action reduces wrinkling. If you would like more details on this, please contact the LG Customer Interactive Center at (800) 243-0000...IFV

How do I turn the interior light on?   (3 Answers)

I just bought this washer and paid $100 more to get the model with the interior LED light. But the light only turns on occasionally, mostly when it is not needed. When I open the door to remove clothes, the light does not turn on automatically. How can I turn the light on when I remove clothes? Right now it turns on and stays on for a minute or two when the cycle ends. But that is not helpful to me, as I rarely get there in time.

How much width do you need to install this washer dryer set?   (3 Answers)

We only have 57" and are super disappointed that the largest model won't work. I think this set will but I want to make sure.

            Answer

Thank you for your interest in the LG 4.5 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity TurboWash® Washer w/ NFC Tag On, Model # WM4270HVA. This Washer has 5 wash temperature settings, 3 spin speeds, 3 soil level settings and 5 additional options for the Permanent Press Cycle, all of which along with the water pressure, the type and amount of load can affect the cycle time for this cycle. On average, it should take between 33-47 minutes. When you select the Cold Wash™ option, although the Cold Wash™ option reduces energy usage and provides the same washing performance as a warm water wash, your wash time will be increased up to 10 minutes. Turbowash® Technology reduces cycle time and provides good performance in a normal cycle. By using the TurboWash™, you can save time without sacrificing performance, but it cannot be used with all the cycles. Turbo Wash is available in the beginning of the Cotton/Normal, Heavy Duty and Perm...^IFV
