Q: QuestionIf i have a NEW house being built, what are the best locations for connections? Should i put dryer vent hole in the bottom middle or sides and how high off the floor? Should i wire a 3 plug or 4 plug for dryer? This set up is different and more compact.
Asked by Robdingo.
- A:Answer I would see about having your dryer plug up higher, I needed a 10ft plug and it is a 4 prong that came with mine. (Comes standard with a 6ft one.) other stuff i believe is in the normal spots but definitely recommend the dryer plug to be up high.

Q: QuestionIs this one unit? what happens when one or the other part breaks? can you replace just the washer or the dryer section.
Asked by michelle.
This question was asked about the related product: LG - 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer WashTower with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - White
- A:Answer It is one unit, both are repairable. The issue of if say after some years the washer fails beyond repair, you would need to replace the whole unit also usually applies with most any stacked pairs as it is recommended to stack only units designed to be stacked with each other. Otherwise, stacking could cause damage and/or void warranties. After a few years, would you be able to find the exact washer model? Would you even want the same old model just to match it with your old dryer?

Q: QuestionCan this dryer have a fan which can push out to a vent outside 65 feet from the dryer
Asked by BV.
This question was asked about the related product: LG - 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer WashTower with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - White
- A:Answer The Maximum length of 4-inch diameter rigid metal duct that can be run for the Energy Star® Qualified LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer WashTower™ with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - White, Model # WKE100HWA, without any 90° elbows is 65 ft. (19.8 m), when using a 4 ‘’ (10 cm) wall cap. According to standard building codes (IRC Section M1502), the maximum length for a 4-inch diameter rigid metal dryer duct is typically 35 feet (10.7 meters), so the LG recommendations supersede general code, allowing for longer runs of up to 65 Ft. However, you generally cannot exceed the manufacturer's recommended maximum duct length without modifying the system, as doing so violates most local building codes and creates significant safety risks. Building codes such as the International Residential Code (IRC) and International Mechanical Code (IMC) strictly regulate dryer ducting to prevent house fires caused by lint accumulation. If your specific dryer manufacturer provides installation instructions that allow for a longer run, like LG's instructions for this dryer, the building code typically defers to those instructions. If the run must be longer than the dryer can handle, you can install a dryer exhaust duct power ventilator (booster fan). These fans help maintain airflow over long distances (up to 100–150 feet) and must be installed according to the fan's specific instructions...^Ivan.

Both configurations deliver 240V using a 30-amp, double-pole breaker, but 4-prong outlets offer better safety...^Ivan.

Q: QuestionDoes this unit offer an alternative option for the plugs on the rear before I hire an electrician?
Asked by Tonishon86.
- A:Answer When you ask about whether the Energy Star® Certified LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer WashTower™ with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - Black Steel, Model # WKEX200HBA, "offers different alternative options for the plugs on the rear.", we are assuming that you are referring to the power cords and what type of plugs they have. The washer, like any washer, is equipped with a power cord that has a 3-pronged, grounding plug that must be plugged into a 120 VAC, 60 Hz, 3-wire, grounding outlet. As with any electric dryer, wiring and grounding for the dryer must conform to your local building codes, or in their absence, with the latest edition of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70. The dryer has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz, single-phase circuit, fused at 30 amperes (the circuit must be fused on both sides of the line). Depending on your local building codes, you can use a 3-wire or a 4-wire connection. A 4-wire connection is required for all mobile and manufactured home installations, as well as all new construction after January 1, 1996. A 3-wire connection is NOT permitted on new construction after January 1, 1996. If in doubt, please check your local building codes or consult with your local building inspector...^Ivan.

Electric Dryer WashTower with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - White. To help keep your washer fresh and prevent moisture buildup, we recommend leaving the door slightly ajar after each wash cycle to allow for proper airflow and to let the drum dry out completely. Additionally, it is a good practice to wipe down the rubber door seal (gasket) with a soft cloth to remove any remaining water or debris. This unit also features a specialized "Tub Clean" cycle that we suggest running once a month to ensure the interior remains clean and odor-free. Q: QuestionDoes this unit use a dryer vent?
Asked by JohnkG.
- A:Answer Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your inquiry regarding whether the LG - 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer WashTower with Steam and Built-In Intelligence requires a dryer vent. We understand that knowing the installation requirements is essential for your home setup. This specific electric model is a vented dryer system, which means it does require a 4-inch rigid metal duct to exhaust hot, moist air to the outside of your home. To ensure your unit operates at peak efficiency and maintains the high performance of the built-in intelligence features, proper external venting is necessary. We want to ensure your installation is safe and provides the best drying results for your laundry. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-4-5-cu-ft-he-smart-front-load-washer-and-7-4-cu-ft-electric-dryer-washtower-with-steam-and-built-in-intelligence-black-steel/J7G564PZRS For further assistance and any specific concerns you may have, please contact us on [email protected], and our team will be more than happy to assist you. —Renzo
