  • QuestionDoes the washer plug into the dryer?

    Asked by Maria.

    • Answer The washer on the Energy Star® Certified LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer WashTower™ with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - White, Model # WKE100HWA, does not plug into the dryer. The washer is equipped with a power cord whose plug must be plugged into a 120 V, 60 Hz 3-wire grounding receptacle. The dryer has has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz, single-phase circuit, fused at 30 amperes (the circuit must be fused on both sides of the line). The power cord (pigtail) connection between the wall receptacle and the dryer terminal block IS NOT supplied with the dryer and will have to be purchased separately. The type of pigtail and gauge of wire must conform to your local codes, or in their absence, with the latest edition of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70. You must contact a qualified electrician to check your home’s wiring and fuses to ensure that your home has adequate electrical power to operate the dryer. Depending on what your local codes dictate, you can use a 30-amp, 240-volt, 3-wire, or 4-wire, UL-listed power cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor and closed loop or forked terminals with upturned ends for the dryer. A 3-wire connection is NOT permitted on new construction after January 1, 1996, and a 4-wire connection is required for new branch-circuit installations where grounding through the neutral conductor is prohibited, and in areas where local codes prohibit grounding through the neutral conductor...^Ivan.

  • QuestionThe drain at the bottom of the washer that drains the door is challenging to reach, open and drain. Is it possible to safely put the laundry tower on a wooden elevated platform? Elevating the unit 2 inches would make the drain emptying easier.

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer The instructions in the owner's manual for the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer WashTower™ with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - Nature Green, Model # WKEX200HGA, advise to "Never install the appliance on a platform or weakly supported structure." Regrettably, we cannot advise you on installing the unit in a manner that is not in congruence with the instructions provided in the manual so installing the unit on a platform to raise it 2 inches will be at your discretion. If you decide to install the unit on a platform, to minimize noise and vibration during the spin cycle, you will need to ensure that the unit is installed on a level, solidly constructed platform capable of supporting the appliance without flexing or bouncing...^Ivan.

  • QuestionMy washing machine turns and functions. My dryer will not turn on (no power) I had it professionally installed.

    Asked by MichaelL.

    • Answer Hello there, MichaelL. We understand your inquiry about your LG WashTower WKE100HVA dryer not turning on, especially after a professional installation. We understand your inquiry, and this is certainly not the experience we want for you. Since the washer is functioning, it confirms that the unit is receiving power. When a dryer does not turn on, the most common causes are a power issue specific to the dryer's circuit or a safety feature that is preventing it from starting. Here is a troubleshooting step you can try: Check the circuit breaker: Electric dryers use two circuit breakers, while gas units use one. Confirm both breakers for the dryer are in the "on" position. If they are not, you can try turning them off for 5 seconds and then back on. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-4-5-cu-ft-he-smart-front-load-washer-and-7-4-cu-ft-electric-dryer-washtower-with-steam-and-built-in-intelligence-graphite-steel/6451030.p?skuId=6451030 If the issue persists, we would like to assist you further. • QuestionWhat is the washing time? Is it 68 min, 2hrs, 3 hrs? Also, what is the drying time? 1 hrs, 2 hrs?

    Asked by Sandy.

    • Answer Hello there, Sandy. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your inquiry regarding the cycle times for the LG WashTower, model # WKE100HWA. We understand that knowing the precise duration of a wash and dry cycle is important. The washing and drying times for this unit can vary based on the cycle selected, load size, and soil level. For example, a "Speed Wash" cycle can get a small, lightly soiled load done in as little as 15 minutes. The dryer's "Sensor Dry" feature automatically adjusts the time based on the moisture in the load, which can help save energy and prevent over-drying. • QuestionIs the dryer ventless?

    Asked by Sam.

    • Answer Hello there, Sam. We understand your inquiry about the LG WKE100HVA WashTower’s dryer. This model is not ventless—it requires an external vent to properly exhaust warm, moist air. To help ensure optimal drying performance, please check that your vent duct is securely connected at the rear (or side) of the unit, free of kinks, and clear of any lint buildup. • QuestionA few months back I started receiving a D80 error code when drying a load. The code is supposedly for an airway restriction. No kinks, snaked and cleaned entire path, but still persists. Thoughts?

    Asked by EugeneB.

    • Answer Is yours a gas or electric? It may be an issue with a restricted gas line or a power issue. The manual online has a section that shows the meaning of different error codes and troubleshooting you can do to reset things. You can also call LG and be walked through the steps.

  • Questionwhat side of this unit (dryer) does the lint hose come out

    Asked by JayW.

    • Answer Dead center in the back of the unit you have the vent hose. It’s about half way down the unit. I’d say on the lower back side of the dryer which is located on the top, washer is on the bottom.

  • QuestionDoes this dryer have the wrinkle care feature?

    Asked by Alex.

    • Answer Hello there. We understand your inquiry regarding your WKEX200HWA WashTower. Yes—the dryer in this model includes a Wrinkle Care cycle, which tumbles your load intermittently after the main cycle ends to help prevent wrinkles. Troubleshooting Tip: For optimal wrinkle‑free results, avoid overloading the dryer and ensure your load is balanced. • Questionare any additional parts recommended/required for this item.

    Asked by lightningcount29.

    • Answer Only if you have them install it for you. I think if you had an electric unit prior and your own basic tools, you should be fine to install. Just check the power outlets and stuff to be certain. They can also tell you what it requires.

    Asked by Kitty.

    • Answer I hope this helps, but I suggest you look at the dimensions offered on the Best Buy website. I needed precise measurements for a custom cabinet being built for my WashTower as part of my laundry room remodel. I remember a diagram showing all angles of the WashTower with measurements. I gave this diagram to my contractor and the cabinet is a perfect fit. Best wishes! I hope the size works for you because the WashTower is absolutely great!
