Q: QuestionDoes the unit have a single cycle option that goes all the way through a wash & a dry without you having to start dry at the end of the wash (even on the app)
Asked by Kr.
- A:Answer You need to select the settings for the dryer when you select them for the washing cycle on the LG 4.5 cu.ft. Smart Wi-Fi Enabled All-In-One14-Cycle Washer and 12-Cycle Electric Dryer with TurboWash® Technology, Model # WM3998HBA for it to in one continuous cycle. Keep in mind that the drying capacity for this machine is twice that of the washing capacity so if you wash a full load, you should take half of it out for the drying otherwise it will take longer for your clothes to dry...^IFV

Q: QuestionDoes this use a heat pump tp dry the clothes or a standard heating element?
Asked by John.
- A:Answer It uses a heat pump. Other answers seem to have erroneously claimed it uses a heating element (resistive heating). It is able to run on a standard 120V 15A element because of the heat pump dryer.

Q: Questionis there a way on LG ThinQ to have this unit do a wash+dry cycle or dry only cycle? do I need to add it to the app as both a washer and dryer separately?
Asked by veebee.
- A:Answer To perform a Dry Only cycle on the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. Smart Wi-Fi Enabled 14-Cycle Washer and 12-Cycle Electric Dryer Combo - Black Steel, Model # WM399HBA, you would need to press the POWER button to turn the washer on, press the DRY button until the desired dry level or time is selected, then press the Start/Pause button to begin the cycle. You can use the Settings on the LG ThinQ application to run the DRY cycle the same way as if you were setting it manually on the dryer. The apps does not add as an app for the dryer and for the washer separately. It adds as tan app for the WM3998HBA...^IFV

Q: QuestionHow long does the entire wash/dry cycle take, without removing any clothes, if it is filled to its 4.5 cu. ft. capacity. Please elaborate. The older 2.3 cu ft model took like 3 hours to complete a cycle. I know it takes longer, but what is the total time?
Asked by WashingMachineBuyer.
- A:Answer The complete wash/dry cycle time for the LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Washer and 12-Cycle Electric Dryer Combo with TurboWash® Technology - Black Steel, Model # WM3998HBA will depend on several factors. When a cycle is selected, the default time for that cycle is displayed. This time will change as modifiers or options are selected. Once the Start/Pause button is pressed, the washer will measure the size of the load. The estimated time may change once the load size has been measured. The time shown is only an estimate. This time is based on normal operating conditions. Several external factors (load size, room temperature, incoming water temperature, etc.) can affect the actual time. The other thing you also need to keep in mind is that the washing capacity for this unit is twice the drying capacity so if you wash a full load, you should take hald of that load out for drying other wise it will take longer for the clothes to dry. Typically, when standalone washers and dryers are matched, the dryer has about twice or close to twice the capacity of its matching washer. In this case, since both washing and drying occur in the same tub, a full load will take longer to dry. When the drying cycle is set so that drying starts when the wash cycle ends, the estimated drying time varies from the actual drying time during the Automatic cycle. The type of fabric, size of the load, and the dryness selected affect drying time. You can also use manual drying. The drying time can be selected by pressing the Dry button. The drying times are given as a guide to help you set your washing machine for manual drying...^IFV
