A:Answer Not sure why, but maybe it's always that way with the first use. The delivery guys who installed my machine started it through its first use (empty tub) before they left, presumably to make sure it was working as it should. When all appeared normal, they left. It was still running an hour and a half after they left. But it's been normal ever since and the estimated run time for each wash can be read on the display. Another possibility is it can sometimes take longer with a small load because it's more likely to become unbalanced. When the machine detects this, it attempts to re-balance the load by adding more water and gently spinning the load until it becomes balanced again. This adds time to the cycle, sometimes quite a bit, and unless you're watching the machine through the entire cycle -- and who does?-- you may not be aware of a balance issue, just the extra time. If the unbalanced load cannot be fixed, the machine will stop entirely and display "UE". At this point, you have to re-balance the load yourself by hand.
