• Thankfully not. If it did, the life of the TV would decrease since a lot of the TV'S with the dvd player built in overheats.

• Gregg H, Thank you for your inquiry! No, the LG - 42" Class (41-9/10" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - Smart - HDTV, Model 42LB5800 is not a TV/DVD combo! It does not have a built-in DVD. To the best of my knowledge, none of the current LG TVs have a built-in DVD!...IFV

• No DVD player. Not sure where you saw that, but mine does not have one.
