We use this TV in a very bright area. After adjusting the wall mount bracket to tilt the TV up a bit we no longer experience any kind of glare. It did have a reflection before, though, so I wouldn't say it is anti-glare. It can be worked around, though.

Please try again later.Hello Michael, The LG - 42" Class (41-9/10" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - 60Hz - Smart - HDTV, Model # 42LB5800 does not have an anti-glare screen because LED LCDs, unlike Plasma TVs, do not really need one! LED LCDs typically have a plastic outermost layer and then a very thin LCD matrix. The plastic outer layer often has a matte finish that is less reflective than glass (even glass that has an anti-reflective coating, as many plasmas feature) so if you have a room with big windows that the TV will be facing, that plastic screen will significantly cut down on glare. One other factor that helps an LED LCD TV handle environments with lots of ambient light streaming into the room is that the screens are so much brighter compared to that of a Plasma Screen! However, the plastic can easily be scratched. A paper towel can even be abrasive enough to scratch it!...IFV
