Hanging your LG - 42" Class (41-9/10" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - 120Hz - Smart - HDTV, Model # 42LB5800 over a fireplace does present some challenges and where to place your power receptacle, DVR etc., are among some of those challenges. Normally I would suggest that you contact Best Buy's Geek Squad about doing a Sight Survey, but they don't do electrical work. You would need to consult a qualified Electrical Technician about where to put the power box. The Geek Squad would need to do the sight survey so that they can determine whether or not the TV can be mounted where you want it depending on what type of wall is above your fireplace (is it brick or stone or something else?). I'm sure you've taken the height at which the TV will be above the fireplace, but Ideally, televisions should be set at the eye level of seated viewers, so double-check the angle by taping a paper template the size of your TV in the preferred location. Sit in your favorite chair and stare at the template for a while. If you experience neck strain, consider placing the TV somewhere else. Or invest in a mounting system that lets you tilt the TV to improve viewing angles. Are you planning on watching the TV only occasionally or will this be your main TV that you're going to be watching more than a few minutes at a time? If you never actually use your fireplace, then you're fine, otherwise, be wary! There is nothing worse for an electronics product than heat! Increasing the operating temperature of the TV can shorten its lifespan. Worse, should the soot from the fire get inside your TV could be disastrous and if the damage internally is noticeable, the manufacturer will not cover this under warranty service!...IFV
