It is my impression that the maximum resolution of the TV cannot take advantage of the HDMI 2.1 resolution input potential. So having HDMI 2.1 vs. 2.0b is almost irrelevant. You will notice that the 8K models offer HDMI 2.1. As usual, newer technology gets talked about, promoted a lot before it is actually practical to the average consumer because of cost, etc. SEE 5G phone cell spec for example.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To the previous answer, HDCP and HDMI are two completely different acronyms, as there is no such thing as an HDMI 2.2 cable. HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) refers to copy protection of the video content as opposed to the connector type. As written on LG’s website for this tv’s input connectivity: “HDMI Input (HDCP 2.2)” This refers to having an hdmi cable that is hdcp 2.2 compatible. Generally, most newer hdmi 2.1 cables that can output 4k should have hdcp 2.2 compatibility. Hopefully this helps.
