Backwards compatibility is the ability of the version of Bluetooth installed to properly interface with older versions of Bluetooth. That means if one of your devices (phone, tablet, etc) is running an older version of Bluetooth it will still work with the TV. There are no dumb questions - if you don’t know you don’t know.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Some Bluetooth version that support older versions on select devices. For example Bluetooth 5 has backwards-compatible with Bluetooth 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2 devices. ^Daphane
