“How is the sound quality in a small sized room? Will we be able to hear stereo separation? Is the sound decent enough that a sound bar isn't necessary? Is there an output for a subwoofer?”

Supports soundbars via toslink, sound quality is great in a small bedroom, doesn't need a soundbar but would be a great addition. The stereo separation isn't going to be as good as headphones, but you can hear when it's playing from one side or the other.
