Yes, we would recommend you remove it, as it's there for protection from scratches during shipping and unboxing. The TV film was designed to be removed so that heat could dissipate through the back of the TV. Leaving the film there will add an insulation layer that could cause the screen to degrade quicker than it's supposed to, and you're running the risk of it becoming rather firmly attached and distorted by heat. We would suggest unplugging the unit before removing the film. -Cazz
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The LG I purchased in December 2022 was installed by the Geek Squad at Best Buy. They removed all the protective film on the TV—front and back.
