That is how I transported it. Just stuck it in the back of my SUV. As I recall the box had a ton of packing to make sure the TV is safe. But you might want to check the LG site to be sure.

If it is placed flat without support or protection, the screen is subject to compromised support in the center, which can place strain on the corners and edges, potentially cracking or damaging the screen.
