A TV does not have to be an 8K TV to have HDMI 2.1 ports that support HDMI 2.1 specifications. All of the HDMI ports on the LG CX 48 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (48.2'' Diag), Model # OLED48CXPUB are HDMI 2.1 ports. HDMI 2.1 brings new features and a lot more bandwidth to the venerable cable and connection. HDMI® Specification 2.1 is the most recent update of the HDMI specification and supports a range of higher video resolutions and refresh rates including 8K60 and 4K120, and resolutions up to 10K. Dynamic HDR formats are also supported, and bandwidth capability is increased up to 48Gbps. Supporting the 48Gbps bandwidth is the new Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable. The cable ensures ultra high-bandwidth dependent features are delivered including uncompressed 8K video with HDR. It features exceptionally low EMI (electro-magnetic interference) which reduces interference with nearby wireless devices. The cable is backwards compatible and can be used with the existing installed base of HDMI devices...^IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.this tv has 2.2 so it definitely supports 2.1 and 2.0. 2.1 offers support for 4k and 120hz refresh rate. 2.0 needs compression technology to make it work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It takes advantage of most but not all 2.1 features. If you want to use eArc with your sound bar, the 2.0 cables will not help you. If you want to do some gaming on the TV, you'll want 2.1. HDMI 2.1 features: eArc, 40 Gbps bandwidth, 4K @ 120Hz, ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) Search the web for the difference between Arc and eArc to see which is best for your home setup.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does support HDMI 2.1 but you need to feed it an HDMI 2.1 source. Like a next gen console or graphics card. You also need a new HDMI 48gbps cable
