The set has multiple sound settings, one of which is called AI Pro. This is the setting I personally use and it is more than sufficient for my needs. I would recommend trying the various settings before buying an additional sound bar. I asked the same question when I went into a Best Buy store and was given the same answer. Try the settings and you may save yourself some money.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm honestly not sure. I've had the same sound bar since 2009 and have used it with any TV I've purchased. I'm sure the sound is alright, but I'd recommend grabbing something simply to boost your sound, if you're worried. The one thing I'll say is that if you have the TV and sound bar on an entertainment center, the TV sits fairly low, so the soundbar may cut off half an inch or so of your picture. That's never bothered me for a second, though.
