“Can the regular coax cable from the cable company connect to this TV? I am told that we have to have a "HDMI" cable? if so what would it be for?? Thank you. G.Easson”

HDMI is used to connect other devices to the TV. My coax feeds an Xfinity cable box with DVR, which connects to the TV with HDMI. My home theater also connects using HDMI to play DVDs. If you have no cable box, it should be fine to connect coax directly to this TV.
